There are many fun things to do in Nelson Mandela Bay, ranging from water to land activities.
- Read the two poignant inscriptions on the stone pyramid on Donkin Reserve,
proclaimed in perpetuity by Sir Rufane Donkin, the Acting Governor of the Cape in 1820, in memory of his late
wife, Elizabeth Donkin.

- Climb the 204 stairs of the historic Campanile with its beautiful carillon of bells
(built in 1923 to commemorate the landing of the 1820 Settlers)
and enjoy an impressive view of the city and Algoa Bay.
- For an awesome aerial view of Algoa Bay with a
difference, arrange for a helicopter or an aircraft flip.
- Stroll/roll along the Humewood promenade and browse
through the "Beachfront Traders' Flea Market" during the weekend or visit the craft stalls at Art in the Park at St
George's Park on the 1st Sunday of every month.
- Walk the trail of the shipwrecked survivors on the
popular Sacramento Trail in the Sardinia Bay Nature Reserve.
- Travel to the Addo Elephant National Park (72 km

- Visit the 1882 Victorian Pearson Conservatory in St
George's Park, which was built for the cultivation of rare, exotic plants and beautiful orchids.
- View the famous Horse Memorial, dedicated to horses
which perished in the South African War of 1899 - 1902.
- Dazzle your senses by scuba diving in the Bay to
view spectacular reefs and shipwrecks. Make arrangements with one of the diving outfits in the city, which offer
one-day resort courses.

- Settler's Park is a birdwatchers paradise, so take
along your binoculars and spend a morning roaming through Settler's Park.
- "Ibhayi Sunshine Saunter" is suggested as a
self-drive option for lovers of scenic views. The route covers some of PE's most scenic areas such as Schoenies &
Sardinia Bay.
- Bond with nature again by donning stout walking
shoes and sun hat and tramping one of the many eco-trails in and around the city.
