There are many fun things to do in Nelson Mandela Bay, ranging from water to land activities.

  • Amble through No. 7 Castle Hill Museum, built in 1827, which is regarded as one of the oldest surviving Settler dwellings in Port Elizabeth, furnished in the style of the mid-Victorian era. Tel +27 41 582 2515

  • Entertain the kids and spend a rainy afternoon roaming through Bayworld's main Museum looking at interesting displays of natural history; Cape Nguni Beadwork; shipwreck displays; relics of bygone days; the wonders of nature and the life of early man.   • Catch the latest releases on the big screen at one of the many cinemas located around the city. Daily newspapers publish schedules of all screening times.

  • View the impressive collection of local historical paintings and prints at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum at St George's Park Tel +27 41 586 1030 or one of the many independent galleries around the city.

  • Funtasia is a family video and games arcade at The Bridge Shopping Mall . Other entertainment options include indoor bumper cars, the "q-deck", located upstairs containing first class pool tables as well as an internet Café. Tel +27 41 363 4681.

  • Three complete reconstructed aircraft and other aircraft memorabilia such as squadron badges and aircraft models can be viewed at the South African Airforce Museum (Port Elizabeth Branch), located behind the PE Airport. tel +27 41 505 1295.

  • Visit the South End Museum - the Museum reflects a bygine era of the suburb of South End prior to and during the implementation of the Group Areas Act in 1950, which led to the destruction of the 'old South End' . Tel +27 41 582 3325.

  • During inclement weather, visit one of the many Shopping and Entertainment Complexes (such as Walmer Park, Greenacres / The Bridge and Cleary Park) in the city and indulge in a shopping spree.
